When I released my app in the App Store (or especially the Google Play Store) I was also surprised about how much hate you get in the reviews about the app only being 90% free and not 100% and that your only goal is to get as much money as possible. The truth couldn't be further away but that's simply not what these people see because Facebook, Google, Instagram etc. earn tons of money, so every digital startup will automatically do so too. I also learned that arguing with these people won't help you at all but since a rating in the App Store with 1 star hurts quite a lot, I started to use the reply function to advertise for the app and why it's worth.
